Catla Fish Curry

Ingredients

Catla Fish – 1 Kg

Big sized Onion – 1 No

Tomato – 3 No.s

Garlic – 10 gms (smashed)

Tamarind – 70 gms

Fenugreek – 1 tablespoon

Mustard – 1 tablespoon

Chana dal – 1 tablespoon

Urad Dal – 1 tablespoon

Salt – 3 tablespoon

Curry leaves – 10 leaves

Gingelly Oil – 200 ml

Turmeric Powder – ¼ tablespoon

Chilli Powder – 4 tablespoons

Coriander Powder – 2 tablespoons

Method of Preparation

Step 1 – Wash the fish

Step 2 – Heat oil and add mustard, fenugreek, chana dal, urad dal, curry leaves, smashed garlic, and chopped half onion in a fry pan and make it half roast.

Step 3 – Add the remaining chopped onion, and chopped tomato half roast it.

Step 4 – Soak the tamarind in water for 5 minutes and filter the tamarind.

Step 5 – Add the filtered tamarind water to the pan.

Step 6 – Add turmeric ¼ tablespoon, coriander powder, chilli powder, salt and 1 litre water to it.

Step 7 – Keep stirring the curry till it becomes thick.

Step 8 – Now add the fish to the curry and let it cook for 5 minutes.

Your Catla Fish Curry is ready
