Elephant Foot Yam Fry


Elephant Foot Yam – ½ Kg

Small Onion – 1 No.

Garlic – 1 No.

Curry leaves – 1 stick

Chilli Powder – 2 ½ spoons

Salt – 1 ½ spoon

Tamarind Water – 5 ml

Vegetable Oil – 200 ml

Mustard Seeds – ¼ teaspoon

Turmeric Powder – ¼ spoon

Method of Preparation

Step 1 – Chop Elephant Foot Yam, onion, and garlic.

Step 2 – Boil the elephant foot yam, chilli powder, and salt with half immersed water in a top pan, then keep it aside.

Step 3 – Now, filter the elephant foot yam and add turmeric powder and tamarind water, then mix it well.

Step 4 – Fry the above mixture in oil in a frying pan, then shallow fry it.

Step 5 – Now take out the roasted elephant foot yam, and add mustard seeds, onion, curry leaves, and garlic, then fry it.

Step 6 – Now add back the elephant foot yam, to the frying pan, then roast it well.

Your Elephant Foot Yam is ready!
