Idiyappam

Ingredients

Raw Rice – 250 gms

Coconut milk – 100 ml

Salt – to taste

Cardamom – 2 No.s

Oil – 2-3 teaspoon

Method of Preparation

Step 1 – Soak the rice for 6 hours.

Step 2 – After soaking the rice for 6 hours filter the rice from water, then finely grind the rice, coconut milk, cardamom and salt. (To make the batter finer you can add more water to it.)

Step 3 – Heat the pan and grease it with oil. Pour the batter to it and keep mixing it till the batter becomes to dough consistency.

Step 4 – Now seal the dough with a wet cloth for 10-15 minutes.

Step 5 – If you have idiyappam maker you use it or else take an idli boiler. I assume you are using idli boiler, now add 2 glasses of water to it.

Step 6 – Place a wet cloth over the idli stencils, now using press grater put the dough into it press over the stencils and steam it for 10-15 minutes.

Tastes great with coconut milk and mutton paaya.

Your Idiyappam is ready!
